Life Membership Nomination Form

Netball NT has a proud history of individuals who have provided long and meritorious service with the Association and who have been recognised with the awarding of Life Membership.

The Honour Board of Netball NT Life Members reads as follows:

•	1991 – Margaret McPherson
•	1999 – Sandy Mackintosh
•	1999 – Karen Schneider*
•	1999 – Riley Wing*
•	2011 – Helen Smith

•	2011 – Thea Pearce							

The recent adoption of both a new Constitution and By Laws encompasses section relative to the awarding of Life Membership as follows:

Clause 5.3 of the Netball NT Constitution:

5.3 Life Members
(a) The Association may, from among persons who have provided long and meritorious service with the Association, appoint Life Members in recognition of their efforts in furthering the interests of the Association.
(b) A Life Member may only be elected by Special Resolution at an Annual General Meeting.
(c) Upon life membership being conferred, the person’s details shall be entered upon the register. A person shall become a Life Member from the time their life membership is formally announced.

Clause 18 of the Netball NT By Laws:

18. LIFE MEMBERS
(a) Nominations for life membership must be submitted to the Association and must be received by the Executive Officer by 30 November each year.
(b) Notwithstanding Clause 18 (a) with the adoption of these new Netball NT By Laws post 30 November that for the conduct of the 2021 Annual General Meeting only Life Membership nominations must be received by the Executive Officer by 28 February 2021.
(c) Nominations for life membership shall be examined by the Board. After reviewing the nomination and completing any relevant enquiries, the Board shall make a recommendation to the Annual General Meeting in relation to the nomination.

In accordance with both of these sections of the governing documents Netball NT now seeks any Nominations for consideration as a Life member of Netball NT
