Netball NT delivers School Holiday Clinics across the Northern Territory, offering fun, inclusive and development-focused netball experiences for children and young people.

Clinics cater to all ability levels — from beginners in our Netball Foundations program to developing athletes in our Train Like Storm clinics — and are delivered in selected locations throughout the year, including Darwin and Alice Springs.

Programs combine skill development, game play and engaging activities in a safe, supportive environment, with options to attend one or multiple days depending on the clinic.

Netball Foundations Clinics (Ages 5–10)

The Netball Foundations Clinics are designed for young players who are new to netball or developing their early skills in a fun, safe and supportive environment.

These clinics focus on building confidence, coordination and a love for the game through play-based learning and age-appropriate activities. Whether attending for a single day or across multiple sessions, children are encouraged to explore netball at their own pace while enjoying a positive introduction to the sport.

What Children Will Experience

Across the clinics, participants will:

// Take part in fun, engaging skill-based activities that develop passing, catching, footwork and basic movement skills.
// Play modified matches designed to support learning, confidence and teamwork.
// Build game awareness through simple decision-making activities and guided play.
// Enjoy a welcoming environment where participation, effort and enjoyment are prioritised.

All sessions are designed with younger children in mind, ensuring activities are inclusive, energetic and developmentally appropriate.

How The Program Is Delivered

Netball Foundations Clinics are delivered by experienced NNT Community Coaches who understand how young children learn and develop through sport. Sessions are structured to keep children active, engaged and supported, while allowing plenty of opportunities for creativity, social connection and fun.

Activities progress gradually, helping children feel confident as they learn new skills and experience game play in a relaxed setting.

Who This Program Is For

Netball Foundations Clinics are ideal for children who:

// Are trying netball for the first time.
// Are new to organised sport.
// Have some netball experience and want to keep developing their basic skills.
// Want a fun, social holiday activity that builds confidence and movement skills.

Why Choose Netball Foundations

The Netball Foundations Clinics provide a positive first experience in netball, helping children develop physical skills, confidence and friendships — all while having fun on court.

These clinics are the starting point in Netball NT’s development pathway and a great way for young players to begin their netball journey.

Train Like Storm Clinics (Ages 11–17)

The Train Like Storm Clinics are designed for developing athletes who are ready to take the next step in their netball journey.

These clinics deliver high-quality, age-specific training aligned with Netball Australia development principles, giving players the opportunity to train in an environment that mirrors higher-performance pathways while remaining inclusive and supportive.

Each clinic day focuses on a different area of athlete development, allowing players to build a well-rounded skill set across the program.

Daily Program Focus

Day 1 – Team Building & Strategy
Players will develop their understanding of team structures, movement patterns and tactical decision-making. Sessions focus on communication, court awareness and working effectively within a team environment, helping athletes understand why and when to use their skills in game situations.

Day 2 – Specialist Clinics
Position-specific sessions provide targeted training for shooters, midcourters and defenders. Players will work on the technical and tactical demands of their preferred positions, developing confidence, consistency and game awareness under the guidance of experienced coaches.

Day 3 – Strength, Conditioning & Movement
This day focuses on physical development through fun, engaging activities designed to improve footwork, agility, balance, coordination and overall fitness. Sessions emphasise safe movement patterns and efficiency, supporting injury prevention and long-term athlete development.

What Players Will Experience

Across the clinics, participants will:

// Train within their age group (11s, 13s, 15s or 17s), ensuring sessions are developmentally appropriate.
// Learn from NNT Community Coaches alongside local Storm players, First Nations athletes and NNT Academy athletes, where available.
// Take part in structured match play, applying newly learned skills, strategies and concepts in game-based scenarios.
// Participate in an Umpiring Masterclass, gaining valuable insight into rules, decision-making and match play from an official’s perspective — supporting smarter, more game-aware athlete.
