School Holiday Netball Clinics

Fun, inclusive and development-focused netball programs for ages 5–13

Netball NT delivers School Holiday Clinics across the Northern Territory, offering fun, inclusive and development-focused netball experiences for children and young people.

Our clinics are designed to support players at different stages of their netball journey — from children discovering the game for the first time through our Netball Foundations program, to older players building their skills and game understanding in our Junior Development clinics.

Netball is a fast-paced team sport that develops agility, coordination, decision-making and teamwork. Players learn how to move into space, read the play and work together — skills that benefit athletes across many sports.

Across Australia, thousands of people are Made in Netball, building confidence, friendships and leadership skills both on and off the court. For many young players, our clinics are the first step in that journey.

All programs are delivered by Netball NT Coaches in a safe, supportive environment and combine skill development, game play and engaging activities.

Clinics run in selected locations throughout the year, including Darwin and Alice Springs, with options to attend one or multiple days depending on the program.

Netball Foundations Clinics (Ages 5–10)

The Netball Foundations Clinics are designed for young players who are new to netball or developing their early skills in a fun, safe and supportive environment.

These clinics focus on building confidence, coordination and a love for the game through play-based learning and age-appropriate activities. Whether attending for a single day or across multiple sessions, children are encouraged to explore netball at their own pace while enjoying a positive introduction to the sport.

- What Children Will Experience -

Across the clinics, participants will:

// Take part in fun, engaging skill-based activities that develop passing, catching, footwork and basic movement skills
// Play modified matches designed to support learning, confidence and teamwork
// Build game awareness through simple decision-making activities and guided play
// Enjoy a welcoming environment where participation, effort and enjoyment are prioritised

All sessions are designed with younger children in mind, ensuring activities are inclusive, energetic and developmentally appropriate.

- How the Program Is Delivered -

Netball Foundations Clinics are delivered by experienced Netball NT Coaches who understand how young children learn and develop through sport. Sessions are structured to keep children active, engaged and supported while allowing plenty of opportunities for creativity, social connection and fun. Activities progress gradually, helping children feel confident as they learn new skills and experience game play in a relaxed and supportive setting.

- Who This Program Is For -

Netball Foundations Clinics are ideal for children who:

// Are trying netball for the first time
// Are new to organised sport
// Have some netball experience and want to keep developing their basic skills
// Want a fun, social holiday activity that builds confidence and movement skills

- Why Choose Netball Foundations -

The Netball Foundations Clinics provide a positive first experience in netball, helping children develop physical skills, confidence and friendships — all while having fun on court.

For many children, this is where their netball journey begins. The program introduces the fundamental skills that support progression into future netball opportunities, including Junior Development Clinics and club netball.

Junior Development Clinics (Ages 11–13)

The Netball NT Junior Development Clinics provide a fun and engaging environment for players who want to build their skills, confidence and understanding of the game.

Delivered by Netball NT community coaches, these clinics focus on developing core netball skills, movement patterns and game awareness through a mix of skill-based training, drills and match play.

The program is ideal for players who are already involved in club or school netball and want to continue improving their game, while also welcoming young athletes from other sports who would like to challenge themselves by trying netball.

New players are welcome and encouraged to attend.

For players interested in progressing further in the sport, the clinics also offer a great introduction to the type of training environment used within Netball NT development programs and pathways.

Players may attend one, two or all three days, with each clinic focusing on a different aspect of development.

- What Players Will Experience -

Across the clinics, participants will:

// Develop passing, catching, footwork and movement skills
// Build confidence in game situations through drills and match play
// Improve decision-making and understanding of how the game is played
// Take part in fun skill challenges and team-based activities
// Train with players in their age group in a supportive environment

Junior Development Clinics are delivered by experienced Netball NT Coaches who understand how to support players as they continue developing their skills and confidence in the game. Sessions combine structured training activities with game play to help players apply what they learn on court, while maintaining an enjoyable and supportive environment. Each clinic day has a different focus, allowing players to experience a range of skills and activities across the program.
