• National Netball Championships - Nominations Now Open

Your journey to representing the Northern Territory starts here. Whether it’s your first time trialling or you’re returning for another opportunity, take the next step and nominate for the 2027 National Netball Championships.

Nominations are now open for eligible athletes wishing to trial for selection in the Netball NT 17&U and 19&U teams competing at the 2027 National Netball Championships in Melbourne.

Whether you've represented the Territory before, have been working towards this opportunity, or are simply curious about what trialling involves, we encourage you to give it a go.

Phase 1 Trials are about more than selection. Through Skill Development Sessions and Match Play, athletes will have the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities, challenge themselves, gain valuable experience and learn more about what it takes to compete at a national level.

You don't need to have been part of a previous Netball NT representative team to nominate. If you're eligible, passionate about your netball and keen to see how far you can go, we'd love to see you at trials.

Not sure if you're eligible? Athletes are encouraged to review the eligibility requirements on our National Netball Championships page before nominating. If you're unsure whether you meet the requirements, please contact Netball NT.

Spectator Information

Phase 1 Trials will be conducted as a closed-door selection process, with only athletes and authorised Netball NT personnel permitted in the trial areas. We appreciate the understanding and support of parents, families and supporters in helping us provide a focused environment for all athletes participating in trials.

How to Nominate

To attend Phase 1 Trials, athletes must complete the online nomination form and pay the $55 nomination fee (incl. GST). We recommend completing the nomination form first, followed by payment through Netball Connect for your chosen trial location using the links below. Only one payment is required per athlete, based on the location where they will attend Phase 1 Trials.

The nomination fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee selection. Athletes selected into the final team will have their nomination fee credited towards their program contribution fee.

NOMINATIONS CLOSE SUNDAY 22 NOVEMBER 2026

Unable to Attend Phase 1 Trials?

Athletes are expected to attend all required selection sessions. However, we understand that circumstances may arise that prevent an athlete from attending. Athletes who are unable to attend Phase 1 Trials due to injury, illness, family commitments or other exceptional circumstances may apply for an exemption in accordance with the Netball NT Representative Team Selection Policy.

Athletes requesting an exemption must still complete the online athlete nomination form and pay the $55 nomination fee (incl. GST). Both steps are required, regardless of whether an athlete is able to attend trials. Exemption requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and approval does not guarantee selection.

Exemption applications close Monday 23 November 2026 at 9:00am (ACST).

To request access to the Athlete Exemption Application Form, please email netball@netballnt.org.au

Athlete selections will be conducted in accordance with the Netball NT Representative Team Selection Policy and the applicable Selection Guidelines. All athletes, parents, and carers are encouraged to familiarise themselves with these documents before nominating.

Need to request an exemption from attending Phase 1 Trials? Contact Netball NT to obtain the Athlete Exemption Application Form.

Exemption applications close Monday 23 November 2026 at 9:00am (ACST).
