The NT LINK NETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS were held last weekend between the 24-26th June, 2022 at the CDU Stadium, Marrara.
The competition is a great opportunity for young up and coming talent to hit the netball court and show off their skills in a round robin style tournament. With multiple divisions taking part, the Association Championships is a perfect opportunity for talent scouts to assess the 15 & Under and 17 & Under age groups. It’s also a chance for aspiring coaches and officials to hone their craft and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment.
It proved to be a dominant weekend for Darwin Netball Association winning three of the four divisions (13 & U, 15 & U and 17 & U) at NT Championships. Alice Springs Netball Association were an outstanding force across the divisions and triumphed in the Open’s division.
This year also saw an addition of the All-Abilities division, with Panthers and Pints from Darwin and Thorny Devils from Alice Springs. Panthers emerged victorious with a 17- 6 win over Pints in the finals.
With a view to the future, a Men’s exhibition match was played between the Australian Defense Force Netball and Darwin Netball Association Men’s team.
