After a successful Round 1 of the DUANL, Christine Voge (Head Coach) stated “the focus for Round 2 would be on full court defensive pressure and executing attacking play with confidence and control.” With that in mind, the team took to the court and applied this strategy in a high pressure game but were unsuccessful in securing the first win, with failed attempts at goals and turnovers being key players to the end result.
The Storm went into Game 2 focused on improving on the previous days results, and they did just that. Ensuring the conversion of their centre passes, the team came out with a smaller point differential, but were unable to defeat the Queensland side who finished with an 82% overall shooting percentage, compared to the Storms percentage of 74%.
Going into Round 3 the team will be looking for consistency in their attacking play and ensuring they stay connected all the way to the shot as they head to Sydney this weekend to take on the NSW Waratahs.
