Determined to improve on the prior week’s results, the Territory Storm went into the first match on Saturday with a strong first half against the Netball NSW Waratahs finishing 26-26. The Waratahs side weren’t going to let the Storm off lightly, and came back fierce in the second half with the assistance of three NSW Swifts players, that bolstered the side to see them finish the game 14 points up.
Territory Storm head coach Christine Voge stated “the Waratahs side got the edge in the second half and we were unable to stay composed and connected in the last quarter.”
Sunday saw the Territory Storm tighten the reigns, narrowing the final score to 51-47 after implementing a strong game plan.
Christine Voge was proud of the team’s performance over the weekend after working on maintaining consistency and staying connected through the court during the weeks training sessions.
“I was really proud of the performance of all the Storm players who were defensively cohesive as a unit but we were unable to push through to take the lead and ensure control at crucial moments to take the win” said Voge.
While the Territory Storm side were unable to get the desired results the side is improving significantly each round.
“Preparation for this week will be on developing our composure and strategy around a number of areas in attacking play” stated Voge.
The Territory Storm will return to the court to take on the Canberra Giants this weekend in Queensland.
