“It was a tight match but the 18-12 first quarter really set us up for the game.” Said Head Coach, Christine Voge.
That lead would be the momentum the Storm side needed to secure the victory and keep the Magpies at bay, with the Tasmanian side unable to recover the six points.
Voge was proud of the girls who worked hard to execute strategies and combinations they had been building on over the competition.
Proving they are contenders to be back-to-back champions, the Magpies shut down the hopes and dreams of the Territory side, winning four consecutive games with a 66-44 win on Sunday, also ending the Magpies win drought.
“The team displayed great team work, focus and dedication across the seven weeks of the competition, challenging the opposition every week and producing some great creativity play.” Said Voge.
The Territory Storm finish their 2019 campaign sitting 5th on the ladder, as the Australian League heads into semi-finals in Melbourne on the 29th of June.
